چکیده
Floating offshore wind turbines (FOWT) have attracted more and attention in recent years. However, environmental loads on FOWTs higher complexity than those the traditional onshore or fixed-bottom turbines. In addition to aerodynamic turbine blades, hydrodynamic also act support platform. A review analysis of simulation supporting platform, coupled aero- hydro-dynamic study FOWTs, is presented this paper. At present, primary coupling method based combination BEM theory potential flow theory, which can simulate performance FOWT system under normal operating conditions but has certain limitations solving complex problem FOWTs. The accurate reliable CFD used research problems still its infancy. future, multidisciplinary theories should be sufficiently dynamics hydrodynamics aerodynamics from a global perspective, significant for design large-scale utilization FOWT.

متن کاملPerformance analysis of individual blade pitch control of offshore wind turbines on two floating platforms
Individual blade pitch state space (IBP SS) control and disturbance accommodating control (DAC) that reject wind speed perturbations are applied on a 5 MW wind turbine mounted on the barge and tension leg floating platforms for performance comparison in above rated wind speed region. The DAC used in this study is simply an IBP SS controller with a wind speed disturbance rejection component. For...
متن کاملEffect of Platform Surge Motion on the Performance of 5MW NREL Offshore Floating Wind Turbine
In this study, an unsteady aerodynamic simulation is performed to realize the influences of platform surge motion on the aerodynamic performance of a high capacity offshore floating wind turbine. A dynamic model with pitch angle control system is utilized to propose a more realistic model of wind turbine and also achieve the rated condition of the rotor. The transient effect of platform surge m...
متن کاملSHM of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines— Challenges and First Solutions
The paper presents an integrated SHM-system for floater, moorings, tower, nacelle and rotor blades. Its core is based on a multivariate SHM-system for rotor blades with three different measuring techniques accompanied by appropriate signal processing approaches: Acoustic Emission (AE) is used for identification of relative small damages at the whole blade, e.g. bursts of fibres, cracks of bon...
متن کاملCoupled modeling of dynamic ice-structure interaction on offshore wind turbines
The offshore wind industry is growing at high pace and is already one of the major renewable energy sources in Europe. To support this growth, costs must be further decreased, amongst others by efficiently designing the support structure of the offshore wind turbines. This requires accurate prediction of environmental loading such as dynamic ice-structure interaction. From industry practice it ...
